good morning everyone! I have been trying to make cards lately with color combos I wouldn't normally use. I am a kraft girl so I tried some other colors that I thought turned out great . The light blue and orange make the kraft pop. sometimes its good to step out of your comfort zone of white, offwhite and kraft cards and try something different.

hi everyone.. I don't know about you but for some reason this card makes me think of summer camp.. the dragonfly,the rustic feel . I love it! The woodgrain backround is from tim holtz, its a new embossing folder from his sizzix line. I can't wait to try it out with some other styles of cards. Hope you are enjoying your week. So this month card club was a little different. A few of us were asked to make a project to share at card club. I made this easy valentine card. The backround paper is from k and company and the heart and boarder are chipboard stickers from martha stewart crafts. The pack came with a set of six for 2.99 which I thought just made really cute cards. hope you enjoy!

hi all! Last week we had card club and made some fun valentine projects. The arrows are so cute! the are small sleeves with m and m's and then we attached a heart and end of the arrow to finish it off. The cards were debbies creations. Of course I love them both but I LOVE kraft paper so the one on the left is my fav! hope you all are enjoying your week.

I love making gift tags! I think they finish off a gift. I like to do a plain bag or wrap and then use pretty ribbon and a cheerful tag. These were so easy. I made a bunch on the cricut and then just took some scrap christmas paper and a few punches and stamps and there you have it. What are you doing to get ready for christmas???

I haven't had a chance to post these pics so I wanted to do it today before we head to tahoe again this week. We love tahoe and love to go in the summer. The weather is perfect and its so relaxing. In July is the celebrity pro am at edgewood and we have gone the last few years. This year we were able to meet one of my football idols Troy Aikman. He was so sweet to take a picture with our family. We made sure we were all in our cowboys gear. You can tell I was so excited I started to cry so I was just trying to get thru this picture before the tears came.

Hello Bloggers! Last week was card club at my house. I love getting together with the girls and making cards and just visiting. It is very relaxing to me and I just really enjoy it. I tried to have a more masculine theme to the cards. It seems as though I always have cards around for female birthdays etc but none for males so I tried to give them a manly touch. Hello bloggers! This week along with finishing card club projects I decided to try some tag ideas. Tags are a nice way to add something to a plain giftbag or to a bottle of wine just to dress it up a little. Tags are the perfect size to run thru the cuttlebug with embossing folders so I gave it a try with the few examples I have here. I need to experiment some more but I like the way they turned out. What do you think? Leave a comment and give me your thoughts or ideas for tags. Havea great week.

This last week I have been busily getting ready for card club at my house next wednesday. I didn't want to show the fronts of the cards to give any clues but everything is ready, cut and set to go. I did make a few cards however that weren't for card club I wanted to share. The first card is based on a card made by Kristina werner last week for her year in cards segment on two peas in a bucket. I like how my card turned out but I think Kristinas color sceme was better. The second card is just from scaps I had left over from toher cards. Still turned out cute I thought.Hope you all have a great week. I have more crafting to do this week and more softball games to attend.

I had a busy week this week getting ready for mothers day. I made two 8x8 scrapbooks for the grandmas which took up most of my crafting time and would you believe I took no pictures??? How bad is that. I did however get a a card or two in and I also went to a concert, a birthday party, a wildtree tasting and a rivercats baseball game. Hope you enjoy your week. I don'[t really have a weekly post of pictures for last week but I wanted to post my pictures from card club this past friday. We made several cards and made duplicates of each card. We also made a really cute card holder that you could give to someone filled with cards as a gift or keep it for yourself to hold cards in. I loved the paper our hostess Peggy picked out. Its from K and Company and I love the colors. She had some really cute card ideas for us as you can see.

This week was a fun spring break vacation for us. We have a trailer so we love to camp and decided to head down the coast. We went to morro bay and checked out all sorts of little towns along the way. On the way home we had an adventure at hearst castle and continued on highway 1 for a "scenic route" I would not advice this way in bad weather and with a trailer. I did however get to make a card before I left and also I am sharing a card my daughter made before we left. Have a great week folks.

So this week I did some crafting and made a few cards. I just left some supplies out in my craft space and when I had time I just went and worked on a card. One morning I got up before the kiddos and finished an idea I had for the card with the butterflies I thougth of while I was going to sleep. Also this week went went to a great concert, Bon Jovi. I hadn't seen them in concert since 1994 and it was just as good in 2010 as it was then or in 1987 when I began to love them. Yes I was one of those girls with big permed hair and posters of her favorite band in her room.Hope you have a wonderful week.

SO I have been having trouble taking pictures everyday for my picture a day challenge but I did want to post what I had taken. I have been sick for the last few weeks and I frankly haven't been doing anything to take pictures of but this was what I did take. I am thinking grandually I will get more into it and take one everyday but I didn't think you would want to see pictures of tissues and medicine so this is what I eneded up with. Tomorrows a new day and new things to see.

Friday night we went to the kings game as part of a charity event for the Kylee Lillich Giving Tree. Game was fun even thought the kings lost.

So I didn't realize how hard this would be to take pictures everyday. I started out on sunday taking a few and monday also but then forgot to take some the rest of the week until friday. Hopefully this week I will get the hang of it. I learned I need to bring my camera everywhere and to look around at my soroundings more. There are some neat things to see everyday

40th birthday

So this past friday was my 40th birthday. I don't really feel 40. Well lets just say it hasn't hit me yet. We had a party at our house with about 35 people. Food, friends, family and fun. We had a great time. My theme was tiffany cocktail. As you can see I had a tiffany box cake that a dear friend made for me and various other Tiffany theme things.

I am trying to take pictures everyday for a project so I can post them on Saturdays. I got a new camera for my birthday so it should be a lot eassier and the pictures should come out a lot better so check back saturday night or sunday morning for my pictures from this week. So I have not posted in several months and thought about ending my blog but a dear friend told me about a project she is doing. She is taking a picture everyday. I thought it would be really neat to start doing this and to look back at the week, month and year. So I decided to start documenting with a picture everyday. Well... I went to start and I have an old digital camera that uses reagular batteries and I am out. So next week I will begin docuementing and posting pictures. Some maybe crafty still which of course will be a longer post but most will just be life in general.
I am actually working on a few things right now for my upcoming 40th birthday celebration so I will post some of those. Thanks for being patient with me. I will be back and running soon.

Morning all! I made this birthday card for my dad a few weeks ago. I love these chipboard shapes from making memories whimsy collection. I was in target a few weeks ago and they had a lot of scrapbook things on clearance and so I picked up these sets. One set was all chipboard shpaes and frames and one set was diecuts, buttons, flowers and chipboard letters. I am really into distressing right now as you can tell. I like the way it adds dimension to a project. Hope you all enjoy and have a good rest of the week.

Manila file folder album

Hi blog readers! Friday night we had card club and Nancy had some wonderful ideas that we made. One of the ideas she showed us to make later was a file folder album. You use a manila office file and fold it and then add papers, embellishments and pictures to it to make a little album. It looked like it wold take quiet sometime to put together but was amazingly quick to put together. I made a christmas one to start and loved the way it turned out so I decided to share so pictures of the almost finished product. I do still need to add photos but will do that at a later date when I decide who to give it to. Have a wonderful day!!!!

Hi All! It has been awhile since my last post. Just enjoying the summer. We have been camping quiet a bit and plan on going more. I love enjoying time with the kids and the nice HOT air outside.

Last week was a friends baby shower and unfortunely I was not able to go but sent this card and giftcard set in the nursery colors. The theme is bright and cheery with animals and an alphabet in this wonderful color combo. I also thought after she is done with the gift card tin it would be really cute to display with a lock of hair and the hospital bracelet inside. Hope you all are also enjoying your summer!

I haven't been crafting the last couple of weeks and made this quick card on sunday for my father in laws birthday I wanted to share with you all. I love Kraft paper. Its like white or cream and goes with everything but can take on a vintage look. I based my card off the ribbon (american crafts). I hadn't even opened the packed and I bought it at christmas time so I decided to take it out. Love the color combo. Hoep you all are enjoying your summer.

Here's another Fathers Day card I wanted to share with you all. We didn't make this one at card club but we did make something with the same layout. I wanted to make two of the same card for my father and father-in-law so I used a 6x6 basic grey pad and some Kraft cardstock and here's what I came up with. I have always loved basic grey and the smaller paper pads are great for card making. You can try out colors and papers to see which sheets you will use the most and then buy it in the larger form for more card making or scrapbooking. Have a great Monday!!

I want to wish everyone a Happy Fathers Day! I hope you all have a great time celebrating that man in your life. This card is for my husband from the kiddos. We made this card at card club (thatnks Peggy)and I have been waiting to share it with you until today. The ties at the top are removable and you can write messages on the back so my daughter wrote some sweet notes for her DADDY from her and her brother. I loved this color combo and thought this was just a really cute idea. If you aren't already in a card club you should think about starting one with a group of friends. We only meet every other month and its a great way to get diffferent ideas and a fun time to visit with the girls.

Good morning everyone. This is another thank you card I made for my daughters female softball coach for the team to sign. I used the same stamp as the male card but a totally different look with this one. I love the large prima flowers. I believe these are called cabana and the paper is from making memories. Good morning everyone. I thought a would post this quick card that I made for my daughters softball coaches. She has two male coaches and a female manager. This was duplicated for each of the coaches. It is a variation of a card we made at card club on friday evening (thanks Peggy) that was a fathers day card. I tried to use distress ink to daub around to give the card a different feel. The papers are from Basic Greys boxer line,then just a few bottons from my stash and a thank you sentiment from stampin up (kristina werner design) and it was done. Quick but really a nice card. Good morning everyone. I made this frame last week for my daughters room. This is one of those projects that has taken me forever to do. I had all the supplies but just hadn't sat down to put it together. I loved how it came together and so did my daughter. The M and butterfly are uppercase living rubbed on the actual glass everything else is just various scrapbook supplies from Me and my big ideas (soft spoken), several rubons in my stash and the paper is K and CO. Hi blog readers. Just a quick post this Satruday evening. I made this card awhile back but never posted it so I thought I would share it with you. I love the blue,white,green combo of colors and I based this card of of the ribbon that I loveand a scrap of paper my friend gave me.

I have been in a sping cleaning kick (well really my husband is on a spring cleaning kick) so we have spent the weekend doing all the odd things that never seem to get clean like closets, blinds, baseboards, and windows screens but we are now done and we are going to relax the rest of the weekend watching movies, and bbqing with friends and maybe even get some crafting in.

Hi blog readers. I hope you all had a nice Mothers Day weekend. I certainly did.

I wanted to share with you a scrapbook page I made on National Scrap weekend. This year instead of going to a store we did a friday night scrap at a friends. We had a mexican theme since it was also close to Cinco De Mayo and just had a great time visiting had having yummy food and goodies. I made this page that night and it is very simple but I really liked how it turned out. The lettering was from the alphalicious cricut cartridge and they just looked very St. Patricks day to me. In a firefighters home St. Patricks day is a big deal with parades and parties and we just had a fun time that night so I of course had to make a page about it. Hi everyone. I just wanted to share a card with you that I made for my hubby. We have been married 12 years today. I really liked the way this card turned out. the ribbon is from american crafts and it has gold flex in it which I love. The letters were stickers. I bought them at Michaels but I can't remember who made them and I don't have the package anymore but I just loved them. I am thinking making memories. Michaels had them in black, gold and silver and I really loved the gold. They went perfect with the ribbon of course so I had to get them.

Hi everyone. Today I am posting a card I made for Kristina Werners 50th color challenge. I love her blog and she has an amazing talent that I admire. For her 5oth celebration she is giving away some fabulous prizes and so I thought I haven't participated in awhile what better reason. The colors this week were yellow, brown, red, white and turqoise. I really loved working with this color combo and I will have to try it again for some scrapbook pages in the future.

Fun michaels purchase

Happy Firday everyone! SO usually I go into michaels needing something specific for a project but this week I just went in because they were having a great sale and I thought I would pick somethings up if I saw anything interesting. WELL as you can see I found a lot . The titles on the right are by me and my big ideas and they were over by the stickers but they are decorated chipboard with sticky on the back. They were 1.19 each so of cousre I had to get a TON. the other packs are various but I LOVe the firefighter one. Soft spokens were 40%off and I love them because you can make a scrapbook page of a project with one of these and a piece of paper and your pictures and you don't have to think about a thing. You just slap it on and it looks great and put together. The other two items the distress ink and acrylic letters I just saw and both were on sale also so I thought I would pick them up. Well thanks for looking at my purchase. I can't wait to show you what I make with them.

I was working on card club projects for this month (card club is at my house) and I realized I had never shared the any of the cards I made at the last card club. These were three of the seven projects we made that night and I love them all. We have card club every other month which works out nicely for all of us and I love all the great ideas everyone comes up with. Today I wanted to share a b day card with you all. It was my husband grandfathers 87th birthday this week and we went to lunch on sunday with him and I gave him this card. I thought it turned out really cute. His wife loves homemade things and I noticed this weekend that each card I make for them she keeps and adds them to a collage she has started in a frame on the wall. Hi blog readers.We have a lot of january birthdays among our family and friends. This is a card and gift card holder I made for my mother in laws b day last week. the gift card holder is great. Its the size of an altoid box and a card fits perfectly and the decoration is a band so that it can be slid off and kept in tact. I also love this color cmbo. Hi all! I am back in the swing of things and crafting again. I wanted to share this cute set I made for a friends son for his 8th birthday. The rectangle item is a giant candy bar and in the bag were some pokemon cards ( he loves them) . Be back soon with some other cards and such.

Happy New Year everyone! It has been ages since I have posted. Sorry about that but I am now back to it so I will post more often now.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years. I am sure like me you are making your resolutions or goals for the new year. I have many so I thought it would be a good idea to post them on my blog and hold myself a little more accountible.

1. Be healthier
I always say I want to loose weight but I just get frustrated with a number so by saying healthier this will mean going to the gym regularly, eating better and just overall think about what I am doing to my body and what I put in it.
2. Drink less wine
Um actually no I am taking this out (disregard)
3. watch less tv and read more
I watch way too much reality tv and I think if I watch less I can read more and gain some knowledge instead of trash.
4. CRAFT MORE
I have so many projects I want to get done and I am so behind on my scrapbook so this is a must.
5. Be a better example for my children
I thinking if I work on all of the above things my children will see what I am doing and maybe follow along.

Kristinas color challenge #33

Happy Thursday! This weeks color challenge was definately a "challenge" but I have several birthdays coming up and I wanted to make some different cards so this was perfect timing. The colors we were given this week to work with were chocolate chip, taken with teal, whisper white, certainly celery, and pumpkin pie. I thought the end result turned out well and now I have a great birthday card to give.

Hello all! I hope eveyone had a wonderful thanksgiving I certainly did. We went to disneyland for four days and had a great time.
I wanted to share with you all a little treat container I made. This was a test sample for a favor I posted earlier. I love the Christmas paper and the ribbon. I can't wait to start filling them with christmas goodies!

I know its early for saying Happy Thanksgiving but I will be away from my computer for awhile and I wanted to make sure I said it.
I made this card using some punches and some pre punches flowers. I love this combo as you can tell. I posted a card with this same combo about a week ago. I also reintroduced myself to buttons. I love the way they look on a card and thought I would try a few on this card. What do you think?

Kristinas color challenge #31

Good morning! I decided to try kristinas color challenge again. Wednesday nights there is nothing on tv and it seems to be a great time to craft so I was able to get some time in and give it a try. This weeks colors were close to cocoa, elegant eggplant, pumpkin pie, so saffron, and whisper white. The colors turned out very pretty together. Hope you like it.

Hope you all had a great weekend. I certainly did. On friday we had a surprise 40th b day party for my friend Lisa (she was very surprised!) These are the favors we made to put at each place setting. They are called sourcream containers. They are easy and fun. I will post the christmas version tomorrow. Have a great week!

The stamps are from the season of joy set from stampin up and the dsp paper is basic grey. I just love basic Grey don't you???

I wanted to share this fun picture with you all and tell you about a fun trip we took this past weekend.

We wewnt to Plymouth, Ca in Amador county and stayed at the 49er village. This is an rv and cottage campground. Every year thaey have a halloween weekend usually the weekend before the 31st. They have costume contests , rv decorating contests, food and games. The Best part is on Saturday evening everyone comes out in costume and trick or treats in the park. As you can see people go all out decorating their rvs. We had a blast! If you live in northern california and ever wnat to have a fun and safe halloween check it out.

Heres a card I made for my daughters teacher for his birthday. The solid paper and ribbon is stampin up and the print is a basic grey scrap from a friend(thanks Lis). I love scraps they give me inspiration for a card.

Hi blog readers! I went to NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK last night. It was great! They danced, and sang for 2 hours. My husband suprised me with tickets yesterday for a friend and I to go and he aranged everything. I was so excited I cried! He earned some major brownie points for that one.

Today is world card making day and I thought I would post some cards I made this afternoon. The friend card is a 3x3 which I enjoy making just to put as a quick note on a gift. Hi blog readers! Here are a few pictures from our evening out with friends at the Neil Diamond concert. I had never seen Neil in concert before but have always loved his music. He did not disappoint. What and entertainer! He sang a few of his new songs but mostly the old favorites. It was great to look into the audience and see people of all ages singing along with Neil. Sometimes the audience was so loud I am wondering if Neil was even singing.

Hi all ! These are older pictures from our trip in August but I had to post these beautiful pictures and tell you all about it. Zephyr cove is a resort area in tahoe that has rv, tent, cabin camping. It is on the beach and past the casino area. You can go on boat trips, rent wave runners, go parasailing. I promise you will not be board but you can also relax in this peaceful setting.We had a great time.

My husband is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and on Monday he had the privelege of flying from California to Texas to go to the game. These pictures are from his seat. He has a friend who had corporate seats that night and nicely shared them with my hubby. He had a great time and I just thought I would share a few photos with you all.
